Europe – Forests

A Film by Christian Baumeister

Europe boasts many types of forest, from the taiga in the north to the cloud forests in the south, each with their own unique array of wildlife. In Finland, brown bears, wolverines and wolves all compete for the same food, while a great grey owl uses its incredible hearing to hunt voles tunnelling in the snow. On the Iberian Peninsula, elusive cat-like genets roam the forest of holm oaks, stalking rats by moonlight. And in Poland’s primeval woods, huge European bison are on the rise once more.
