European wildlife is more threatened than ever before. Their last refuge: the Carpathian Mountains.
Of all the mountain ranges in Europe, the Carpathians are home to the most pristine forests, the largest populations of bears, wolves, and lynxes, and an astonishing diversity of other creatures.
The series "Into the Carpathian Wild" shows how the animals survive for a year in this last stronghold of nature – this episode documents winter.
Through individual stories, we can better understand the connection between the lives of the animals and the entire Carpathian ecosystem – an ecosystem that protects the diversity of life.
