Uhu - Wo lebt unsere größte Eule?
A Film by Jens Hamann
In winter, as darkness falls, the call of Germany’s largest owl species echoes through an old quarry. The male eagle owl calls repeatedly from various trees. Finally, he encounters a loudly calling female on a rock. Both are now ready to mate. In the ruins of an abandoned castle, owl expert Stefan has installed cameras. This allows him to observe the eagle owls nesting there day and night. The film documents the hatching and rearing of four eagle owl chicks, who become more independent day by day and gradually venture further and further away from their nursery—the castle ruins.
