Beaches of Europe – Sardinia

A Film by Mi-Yong Brehm

Hidden coves, long beaches, and turquoise waters – that's Sardinia. The second-largest island in the Mediterranean is considered the Caribbean of Europe and is a major tourist destination. But few people realize that beaches are natural habitats that need protection. Sand is a precious resource, and no two grains are alike. The film shows how beaches are formed, why they are so diverse, and how Sardinians try to reconcile nature conservation and tourism.
