Beaches of Europe – Sardinia
A Film by Mi-Yong Brehm
Hidden coves, long beaches and turquoise blue water – that's Sardinia. The second largest island in the Mediterranean is considered the Caribbean of Europe and is a tourist magnet. But very few people are aware that beaches are natural habitats that need to be protected. Sand is a precious commodity and no two grains are alike. The film shows how beaches are formed, why they are so different and how the Sardinians try to reconcile nature conservation and tourism.
