Doñana – Spaniens Garten Eden
Zwischen Dünen und Meer
A Film by Carmen Rodríguez, Joaquín Gutiérrez Acha
In the ever-changing landscape of the Coto de Doñana National Park, shifting sand dunes engulf entire pine forests and create unique habitats for highly specialised species. However, persistent droughts resulting from climate change and unsustainable water use are threatening the entire ecosystem. The film also highlights Andalusia’s deep cultural connection to this landscape: every year, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims cross the national park on foot or on horseback.
